Meditation

- What do you think of the video? Do you meditate? Why? Do you feel it works? Why?

The video explained how meditation helps your body in general. I thought the video was great because it was easy and fun to understand, the drawings helped a lot. Personally, I don't meditate but my sister and my girlfriend do. I haven't had the interest and the necessity  of doing it but I would like to try it some time. I think it works for most people who do it since my close friends have told me about it.

How are you feeling these days? Why?

I´ve been feeling distracted, it is hard for me to concentrate during classes. I also get bored easily during my classes. I miss playing basketball and soccer and seeing my friends. This is because staying at home all these months has made me feel anxious.

How do I feel when the English class starts?

Enthusiastic because I feel I still have a lot to learn. The teacher has given us great tasks for us to do and I feel motivated to keep working hard in this subject.

Gender Stereotypes in Chile

The gender stereotypes in Chile are still very strong, many people have tried to eradicate these stereotypes, but part of the society doesn’t want to leave them behind. At work, the salaries are unbalanced, men earn more money than women in the same place of work. Also, in some families, people think that women still have to stay at home to raise children and do the housework. Before the community would notice that it was a wrong situation, this thing was unthinkable, and that is trash. Recently women started to have higher positions at work, and also are breaking other stereotypes, like they can be perfect doctors, they can be politicians, extremely good at maths, and they can be athletes of excellence.

We have to change these gender stereotypes in Chile, all people have to be equal, we shouldn't abide by these rules, nobody can tell us who we are and what we can become. There is still much to achieve. Nobody says that it would be easy, but if we fight together against these stereotypes, we can move towards a more equitable society.
